If I uninstall the mod, and reinstall, will it create a new table? We didn't have the mod installed long enough to worry about needing to recreate the table/data. The mod itself has a 'recounter' to reset the mod's data.

I just don't know if uninstalling the mod will break anything in the server/forum, and am skeered, so figured I'd better ask someone who knows.

I'd bet it would remake the table and maybe ask if you want to over write the old one if it still exists.

Yeah, it deleted the old one. That's why we were getting that database error 'no post thanks table exists' when I had the mod turned on.

That's the one. I had installed it and a couple users, including me, had 'user permission' errors when we clicked on the 'thanks' button. So I uninstalled/reinstalled the product file which ended up deleting the table, which caused worse errors. After reading 153 pgs of comments on the mod thread I found out the 'user permission' error was just an IE/cache issue.

After reading those 153 pgs regarding the mod I noticed the advice given was that you have to upload the files to the server via ftp and in ascii mode.

I know what an ftp and ascii mode is, I just don't know how to use the ftp upload option as I've never done it that way.

As I said, I've always just uploaded the zip files thru the Legacy file manager and extracted and it's always worked.

This is one of the reasons why I asked the questions here...was hoping someone would be able to answer my questions that seemed overwhelming to me. I don't want to try to uninstall something if it's going to create worse problems.

I don't see any 'uninstall' options in the server cpanel.

I only see options to 'delete' files. Is THAT what 'uninstalling' means? Just go thru and delete all the files that I uploaded originally?

In the mod itself might be an uninstaller.

Yeah, I found out after I submitted that post that when coder lingo that says 'uninstall' the server files, they mean 'delete'.

The only place that truly 'uninstalls' is from the product manager.
