I called Bachman out on this because CPAC happened just the other day, but she purposely lied about the President being "AWOL" and about the CIA ordering responders to "stand down" when both of these lies were already proven to be just that-- lies.

A few years back, Bob Schieffer of CBS tried to call Bachman out on her lies.


SCHIEFFER: I want to ask you about something else. A lot of your critics say you have been very fast and loose with the truth. You know, the po-- PolitiFact, which is a website that won a Pulitzer, did an analysis of twenty-three statements that you made recently. Of these twenty-three, only one they said was completely true. Seven they call pants on fire kind of falsehoods. Four were barely true and two were half truths. How do you answer that criticism? Because here’s one of them, you know, you said on the record there had been only one offshore oil drilling permit during the Obama administration and, in fact at that time they had been two hundred and seventy. How do you explain that?

BACHMANN: Well, you know, I think that what is clear more than anything is the fact that President Obama does -- has not been issuing the permits, that he should have been issuing on offshore drilling that’s--

SCHIEFFER: Well, it’s more than three hundred now.

BACHMANN: Well --

SCHIEFFER: At-- at that time there had been two hundred and something. And you said there had been only one.

BACHMANN: But as far as drilling goes, we hadn’t been drilling what we need to-- that’s why we just this week--

SCHIEFFER (overlapping): But that’s different, isn’t it?

Apparently so. Bachmann used a disputed foxnews report and you follow the lead of Chris Matthews and scream that she's a liar. I'm surprised you haven't gone as far as the race-baiter Matthews and accused her of being racist.

Admit it....Obama has blatantly lied as well.

Here's a blatant lie he's spouted recently...the Republicans came up with the sequester. That was a LIE. That idea came from Jack Lew and the WH.

There are several statements Obama made about the sequester that were lies made to try and stoke the fears of the people. WH cleaners would lose pay/hours....lie. Teachers would be laid off...lie. TSA would be downsized, causing long delays at airports....lie.

There are documents from the Obama admin requiring different agencies make unnecessary cuts in order to make the public feel the pressure of the sequester.

I'm not a Bachmann fan. But I'm also not biased and blind to attack one side, but refuse to admit even one instance of the other side lying.

Politifact:

Bachmann’s office did not answer our inquiry, but experts say she probably got it from The Poverty of Welfare: Helping Others in Civil Society, a 1996 book by Michael Tanner of the libertarian Cato Institute.

First, Bachmann’s claim appears to be based on a 17-year-old study that cites data that may be a decade older than that. In an interview, Tanner said he quoted Woodson’s findings and then referenced a number of regional studies that reached similar conclusions.

This COULD ALMOST be a mistake. However, she had to dig for a 17-year old study that may have been based on 10 year old statistics at the time it was published-- 17 years ago! THIS IS A CALCULATED LIE TOLD AT CPAC 2013!

Bachman:
"A report just came out that if we continue with President Obama's policies, we're looking at over 9 percent unemployment next year in the fourth quarter."


POLITIFACT:
The former presidential candidate from Minnesota said she was referring to a report from the Congressional Budget Office, the nonpartisan agency with expert staff that generates projections about how laws affect the federal budget and economy. We reached out to her office for more detail, but didn’t hear back.

So we checked out CBO's most recent such report, an update to the country’s economic outlook for the decade. It did include a projection that unemployment could reach 9.1 percent in the fourth quarter next year (Table 2-1).

But that projection was not based on continuing "President Obama’s policies." Rather, it was CBO’s look at what would happen if current laws are left unchanged -- which is not what Obama advocates.

Maybe she made a mistake here. However given her track record, I am not going to give the benefit of doubt on this either. She purposely tried to make the President look bad by telling a lie! Of course, she never apologized or back tracked from this assertion.

The thing is, she doesn't have to lie to show that Obama is not a conservative!
