Re: The Good News Cafe Forum
OEFM / JA,
My friend I am not going to preach to you because you already know any words I would say but I do want you to know that your current path has saddened me greatly and I am praying for you and your family. I don't know what happened to bring you to this point but whether you acknowledge it any more or not God is there and loves you.
As much as I hate bad things happening to good people my faith is not shaken because God does not keep a lot of bad things from happening. I think God set this world in motion and during this period of time 99.9% of what happens is due to the actions of humans and the spirit of he who as cast down from heaven.
If I get cancer I am not going to blame God because I know it is most likely the processed foods I have been eating pretty much my entire life or maybe those cool trucks spraying DDT down my street while I was playing as a child in the 60's.
It just always blows my mind when people who have known God and his presence go on to deny him. Blows my mind and sends a shiver down my spine.
You have always been a kind and gracious gentleman dealing with me and I wish and pray only the best for you and your family. That somehow you will find your faith again.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
