Don't get me wrong, I like the Army, almost joined it until my dad talked me into joining the Navy,
Every body does their part. I was on a nuclear submarine. I don't recall supporting the Army once. I do remember the ineptitude of the soldiers on an Army tug in the Azores when they dented our boat. Whose idea was it to give grunts a boat in the first place?
Yep, without the Navy and the Airforce you guys are just all dressed up and no where to go.

My dad was in he Navy during WWII. He spent three years on a Destroyer (USS Lange) in the Pacific. Saw suicide bombers who came so close to hitting the ship he could see the pilots faces just before they hit the water.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: The Good News Cafe Forum
Welcome JA. I still laugh when I think of your experience with swapping cars.
My husband was Air Force and I wonder if the BX is better help now than the stores today.
Also, not just for JA but when your eyes get on man they will always fail you, when you eyes are on God He can not fail. Might not understand what He is doing, but He can not and does not fail.
Heard a wonderful message once called The King Can do no Wrong.

Re: The Good News Cafe Forum
So is GNC closed for GOOD or just renovation?
I can get to the site and even log in, but cannot access any posts.
They all say there has been no activity on there for 30 days.

Well, if no disagreement or questioning of sacred cows is allowed (which is what Rutledge implied recently), than it will go the way of the Apostolic Man forum and never have more than one or two posts every couple of days, eventually evaporating into nothingness.

To RR's way of thinking that is what he wants. If it isn't an "Amen corner" He isn't interested in having it. He would rather have two people in what he calls 'unity' than ten thousand not. Personally I believe people can have unity and not agree on every single thing. but... what do I know.
Which for some folks I guess that is just fine.
