Words Dictated By A Teacher

http://news.yahoo.com/dad-furious-fi...124614291.html

The words are written in crayon, in the haphazard bumpiness of a child's scrawl.

"I am willing to give up some of my constitutional rights in order to be safer or more secure."

They're the words that Florida father Aaron Harvey was stunned to find his fourth-grade son had written, after a lesson in school about the Constitution.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8 KJV

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV

I thought we were the land of the Free and the Brave
Are we going to change it to the land of the "Slave" and "Coward"

So sad.... The real moral to this story is to be completed involved in your child's education - on a day to day basis!

If your kid is going to a P.S. (good luck), they spend about 7 hours there--how much time do you spend with your kid? You are giving them to the system. You better get with some friends, and home-school, if you have any sense!

There are many alternatives to the public school system. Home-school works great for a lot of families and I applaud those who can and do home-school. However, if you are completely honest, you know that there are many families that are not capable of home-school for many reasons. I fully support home school. I would not put my children in a public school environment.

My words were spoken for those who for whatever reason HAVE TO avail themselves of the public system. And yes, I know some Christians who fall into that category. They absolutely have no choice, if their child is to receive any education at all. We need to pray for those parents who find themselves in this situation!!

Ya sorry, not buying "no choice;" go ye, and make it happen. Or I'll pray God's will for them, and you know what that brings

You're being a little judgmental there aren't you?

So glad that YOU are able to "make it happen" in every aspect of your life.

Re: Words Dictated By A Teacher

I'd rather send my kids to a private Christian school than to try to home school them.

But I am putting the cart before the horse with the above statement.

I used to think that I'd rather have my kids in public school, even if I could afford private school because I didn't want them to be too sheltered. However, I think that the best thing would be private school.

Ah, I apologize; possibly a mis-communication via 'shorthand.' My meaning was that you always have a choice, and not that I, by any measure, am 'making it happen' in every area of my life. I could only wish. Making the correct choices can be difficult, incredibly difficult, and I also did not mean to diminish this difficulty. Those of you in this position are in my prayers, and I pray that the Spirit will guide you.
