Attention AFF - Part II
Remember my ammo thread on 04/04/13? I hadn't been able to find any 9mm ammo. Well, here's the 9mm ammo I've been able to acquire since then! The Lord has blessed me indeed!

Very cool. I am particularly jealous of that mega pack! Where did you find the ammo and for how much?
My situation is that I can find 50 round boxes of 9mm ammo but it is $20-25 per box and not really good stuff. The good stuff is $18 -$26 for a box of 25 rounds.
Still hoping to hit the jackpot at Wal Mart but last couple of days have not had the energy to drag myself to the store at 7 pm to wait for the truck to come in. Last time I did there were only 2 boxes of 9mm and 5 people in line ahead of me.

If you want to buy ammo, join a decent gun board and look in their Marketplace, most of them have them and the sellers are usually not trying to gouge anyone.

They're rip-offs! I'd rather buy from Walmart.

I think you misunderstand. By 'gun board' I mean a discussion forum that caters to firearms enthusiasts. They usually have a 'marketplace' where individuals post things for sale. I have found the best prices on mags and most ammo to be in those places. WalMart is still selling ammo at pre-panic prices but that's assuming they HAVE any ammo, which they usually do not (round here, anyways).
Of course, I'm not into 9mm, so YMMV.

Yup. However today I did find a good deal there. I got a SCCY CPX2 9mm conceal gun for $259. It is the bi tone one. 10 rounds and just 15 ounces. Oh, and free shipping.
Overall though you are correct. Based on posts on gun boards CTD has run off a lot of customers. They would have been better off just not offering some of the things they offered at incredibly jacked up prices.
I think that at one point when the fear was at the greatest that high capacity mags would be banned CTD had that 100 round .223 / 5.56 drum that normally sells for $179-199 for something like $399.

CTD was the first to massively jack up their mag prices right after the scare started -like an AR mag which would normally go for somewhere in the 20's suddenly selling for $79, overnight. Although I have to admit to ordering and receiving 4 cheap 30-round AR mags from them in the past few weeks. I believe I paid about 15 bucks each. I may not be able to find ammo, but darn it, I will have something to put them in when I DO get it!

LOL, that is my problem now. I have dozens of 30 round magazines but finding ammo is the problem. Luckily I have a few hundred rounds of .223 and 4.45.
My weak spot is 9mm ammo. I know where I can buy it but it is just so cotton pickin' high it kills me. Once I recharge my batteries I will be back to hanging around Walmart with half a dozen other folks every night around 7 pm in the hopes to get lucky.
My Taurus 840 40 S&W should be arriving end of this week or next week and at least I have a couple of 50 round boxes of it so I can shoot it a little when it gets here.
