The New Church (or Swedenborgianism)
Ok, so I sometimes take these crazy tangents in Wikipedia. I was on facebook, and someone had posted an rare video of Helen Keller, so I went to look something up about her, and of the many things I read, I heard that she was somewhat of a proponent of Emanuel Swedenborg, which lead me to something called the New Church Movement. That is misleading. Swedenborn had developed a modalistic view of the Godhead and while it can be somewhat comparable to Oneness that is where the comparison ends as far as I know

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Yeah, when I read farther, that appears to be the only similarity.

Swendenborg was a mystic and medium. His understandings were foundational to the New Age and Spiritualist paths.

Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman, )September 26, 1774 – March 11, 1845 was a local historical character here in Ohio. He traveled through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois planting apple trees and giving apple seeds to the settlers. I've heard that when he was in the area he attended a local Swedenborg church on Route 747 a few miles from here. I've heard a oneness minister speak of Johnny Appleseed as going through the land preaching the One God message.
