Welcome hoppedupmedic! Quite a debut post ripping the place but oh well. Hopefully you will take a little more time to check AFF out beyond your snap judgement (emphasis on the word "judgement").
God Bless

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Well I like AFF, but I'll admit, "There's a little bit of devil in her Angel eyes..."

Funny... I've never found AFF to be any more mean than church... Maybe not as sneaky though...

I don't post much anymore, but would like to share this with you...
Many years ago, when I bought my first computer, lol I googled Apostolics and Pentecostals and everything I could think of to see what was 'out there'.
My searching led me to a forum known as FaithChildForum...FCF...
I read for a while, thinking, "These people are hell bound!" Being in and around the Apostolic Church since prenatal, I had never heard labels applied to saints (ultra con, con, mod, lib)...this was all foreign to me. You either were or you were not saved. And I surely had never heard of Apostolic folks who were what many call "one-steppers."
When I finally got the nerve to log on, my username was An Apologist...I chose the name because I believed, truly believed that I was one of the FEW on that forum who believed in and lived the Apostles Doctrine, and that it was my duty to stand as an apologist for truth.
But this is what I found after I posted for a bit... most of the folks... most of them were not the devils I supposed them to be.
So I came down off my sanctified high horse and discovered that iron indeed sharpens iron. I learned from those I interacted with, and it would be nice to think that maybe I shared something good with them.
I guess the point is this...leave if you want, but please do not assume that the "nastiness" you may have viewed was really nastiness and not just heated discussion. And please do not think that any disagreeable posting you may find is from those who do not see things exactly as you and me.
Harshness and a bad attitude is a 2 way street...

Forgive them, they're just trying to be like Jesus. He had this horrible habit of hanging out with a bad crowd, and eschewing the religious elite.
I for one, think this forum would be extremely boring if it was just people sitting around saying "We're Apostolics. We're awesome. Our Doctrine is so correct, it's astounding! Go Acts 2:38! Yay Standards! Shockamoo!"
But I'm a backslidden reprobate and probably shouldn't be listened to.

I enjoy the fact that even though we do not all agree on everything ( ok most things ) when ever there is a post for prayer needed most all agree in prayer for that person.

Re: All I can say is, "Wow."
Just because you are disgusting and I pointed it out does not mean I hate you... I noticed that the bum laying in the sidewalk outside a downtown Houston bank over the weekend smelled really bad too... but I didn't hate him for it... I just had to move away from him so I did not vomit... you kind of have that effect too...
