While there may be some that are actually "racist" , I believe (and have talk to) many that truely believe no mix marriages is scriptural. As wrong as they may be, it doesnt make them "racist".

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
The UPC has no racism.
Yes, I have seen it, I was friends with the only black couple in a UPCI church and they definitely were treated rudely in the UPC church, so this is a true charge. Some in the church would even refuse to shake the hand of my bother, but this precious couple were gracious enough to overlook that treatment.
There are no cult-like tendencies in the org. Yes the controlling spirit in many UPC pastors is a cult-like tendency
No one has ever experienced intimidation from the leadership of the UPC.
Yes, I have experience it personally, so if some want to call me a liar, they are free to do so, but I stand by my charge.
These charges are baseless and only exist in the imaginations of bitter haters.
These charges are true and have a solid foundation, and if some want to call reality imagination they are free to do so.

LOL! yea because a bitter ex-upc'er is going to tell the story as purely as the wind driven snow! LOL!
by the way, I have a copy of Fudges book, have read it cover to cover and personally know several of those talked about in the book.
I have no dog in this fight but always laugh at the "bitter" label. It's tactic numero uno in the Apostolic playbook when unable to address a charge logically.
I wonder if the Pharisees called Jesus "bitter" when He spoke against their abuses?
I read the following quote from Eugene Cho yesterday and think it applies to this conversation.
"When you're in position of power & privilege, it's often easier to admonish or encourage others to "just let it go." Translation: StatusQuo."

I love you my friend but suggesting you have no dog in this fight is laughable.

I've met one or two of 'those' folks... I always like to ask them to explain Moses' wife the Ethopian (when was the last time you saw a white Ethiopian?)... It's most fun when it suddenly occurs to them that Moses was NOT WHITE... and (horrors) neither was Jesus!
And yes finding fault in mixed marriage is racist.
There is indeed some bitterness in some ex-UPC, but not all. The difference is when folks show grace to their past vs. condemnation of their past. One can move another direction without setting fire to their past direction.

I'm with Scotty on this one. I disagree with that statement. Just because a Pastor is against a mixed-raced marriage, does not mean he's racist. I'm sure there are many who are, but I know a lot of ministers (of different races) who are against mixed-race marriage, and in no way are they racist.

I agree, David. A pastor, we are related to, was sharing with my husband a conflict that arises between a couple in his church. He is black and she is white. Whenever they get into an argument, he says, "You probably wish I was white, don't you?"
When a pastor sees, beforehand, this could be a problem down the road, he isn't a racist for discouraging the match. The man should never bring that up during ANY argument, if they are claiming to have been in the will of God.
