Re: Women Preachers

I'm learning how to REALLY read the Bible and be taught of God by God. He never stops us from making mistakes as I said before, so, when I read the Bible now I really search it. I look for what God said, Jesus said or the Father said and take with a grain of salt when a man says or uses the word I. Trust no man, trust God. The Bible is a VERY clever book. It has both man and God's words in it--not to mention the devils. BUT, God always clarifies in the Bible and HE will repeat it several times in several places. SEEK HIM FIRST.

Re: Women Preachers

Why I raised the subject is because of what I am currently reading.
This talks about women Pentecostal history, Especially in Louisiana.
What I have read so far is very interesting.

If you do not know it I have a download thread where I have already posted this.

Re: Women Preachers

If Deborah was a judge over Israel, I guess a woman pastor is probably okay. Looks like a woman general superintendent would be okay. But, to tell the truth, I feel it is the exception and not the rule.

In my mind... a Judge was like a Sherriff or prosecutor. More of a political position. And if memory serves me correctly... it was because no man would rise up to the challenge. Her function was an open rebuke to the weak men among the Israelites.

I seriously doubt there was not one man in all of Israel who did not want that job. That's not even natural.

1. This is one scripture out of the whole bible.
2. What are the fruits of the spirit of woman preaching? (As stated before it depends on the person just like men preachers)
3. There were women in the bible who played leadership roles.
The bible teaches that in the assembly women are to be silent.

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Also, we have this:

1Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

'Women preachers' are operating outside their proper biblical role. And it is most likely because there is no man operating in his proper biblical role in those assemblies which have 'women preachers'.

Mary should have just kept her mouth shut and not given the message Jesus told her to give.

Was Mary teaching doctrine in the assembly? Or was she reporting something that happened?

If Mary was teaching doctrine in the assembly, then Paul's words are contradicted.

If she was reporting something that happened - that the Lord had, in fact, risen - then Paul's words are not contradicted.

Think I'll go with the latter.
