Associated Brotherhood of Christians

Has anyone attended an Associated Brotherhood of Christians church?

They do not have any churches in my area.

They are Apostolic but do not teach stuff like woman should not cut their hair.

This is a link to what they believe.

I enjoy reading and guessing about how a church's "Statement of Faith" gives interesting clues about what people are in for, later on. But here's first time I've seen a church define itself by a discussion of NOT believing in footwashing:

<<Foot Washing - Since Jesus did not wash the disciples' feet in public, in the Temple or Synagogue, and since there is no Scriptural reference to it other than as a common custom, we believe He was giving us an example of Love and Humility. (Luke 22: 24 -27; John 13:12-15 ; I Timothy 5:10) Hence; we do not support the practice of washing feet in public as a church ordinance.>>

M'kay.

<<Moral Standard - We believe in the highest possible standard of moral living,>>

Highest possible standard? M'kay...

<<<therefore we do not tolerate the Doctrine of Free Love...>>

...as if to show how "highest possible" we are, let's contrast it to something fairly low, something not even on most people's radars.

I have to agree about the free love part! I laughed, when was this written 1970?
They couldn't update their statement of beliefs in the last 40 years?

Surprised nobody noticed the part about not practicing the Lord's Supper. ? . ?

These folks do not believe in observing the Lord's supper literally or feet washing.

Re: Associated Brotherhood of Christians

Are they associated with Branhamites?

"That night, Brother Branham preached “Why?”, the first of four sermons at the Associated Brotherhood Of Christians Campground in Hot Springs Arkansas."

http://branham.org/20130626_Why

Found this too from their calendar....

Mens Conference
Dates: November 1-2
Location: Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ
4248 Grey Road Memphis, Tennessee 38108

That's an ALJC church, not a Branhamite church.

The ABC organization is so small, they will fellowship just about anyone that will fellowship them.

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on Grey Rd. in Memphis pastored by Don Johnson was for many years the hdqt. church of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ (ALJC).

The ALJC and the ABC are two totally different organizations.

Plus they have a campground that they will rent out to anybody. I don't think there is any connection.
