With all these benefits listed, including the direct ties to salvation...why would anyone shy away from the Holy Ghost (or for those more contemporary and refined, the Holy Spirit)? It's what gives us power. How can someone be saved and not have the power of the Holy Ghost inside of them? It's like receiving the gift of a brand, new sports car...with nothing under the hood. Looks great, but nothing to give it power.
I have some dear friends who are HG filled mind you, but they cringe at any message that is preached about receiving the Holy Ghost....especially on the necessity of receiving the Holy Ghost.
I just don't understand why people are afraid of the Holy Ghost.

Please don't misunderstand me, but I believe that every blood bought child of the King should earnestly seek for the Holy Ghost the promise of the Father, with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
There is nothing better than being in a service with Spirit filled believers and worshiping Christ.
I love our church it is very Pentecostal and its roots in Pentecost are deep and wide.
