Re: Who's Name was Jesus Baptized into??
Very nice comments, thank you all.
I agree that we don't know, nor do we know the exact words that any baptizer spoke over the ones baptized in the scriptures.
What we do know is that the ones baptized had come to believe that Jesus was their Savior, and that fact constituted "baptism in the name of the Lord, Jesus, and THAT is more important than what anyone spoke over them.

The biblical evidence indicates that when people went to be baptised by John, they confessed their sins. Thus, the ones being baptised 'spoke the words' that constituted the 'formula'.
However, from Biblical and ancient Judean practice, we can surmise (surmise only!) that when John baptised someone he spake a blessing of some kind, recognising their obedience and contritition towards God.
Interestingly enough, when Jesus was baptised we know for sure that Someone spoke, for the Voice came from heaven...

Yes, this was the sign that John was to know that Jesus truly was the Savior. "...one in which the Spirit like a dove rests upon and remains..."

I wonder if they were publicly confessing their sins? Publicly confessing one's sins before they're baptized would be an interesting thing to watch/hear.
Not that it matters, public or privately to God, but when I read your comment it made me wonder. I've read that passage many many times and I really never thought about what actually was going on during the confession stage of the process.

Considering the biblical and even the traditional Jewish way of 'confessing' things, I would say it is almost certain their confessions were vocal, and not just 'mental'.
Also, we are to 'confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus', and the context seems to indicate baptism. So a public confession of one's sinfulness and need of forgiveness would be highly appropriate to John's baptism. Of course, one might argue that simply the act of coming to John to submit to his baptism was just such a confession (which is probably why John exclaimed to Jesus 'I need to be baptised by you, not you by me!').
