You've haven't been involved in my conversations with oneness people who use trinitarian terminology to explain why Mary couldn't be God's mother.

The Protestant objection to the use of the title 'Mother of God' has to do with the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic 'veneration of Mary', and has little or anything to do with christology proper. Catholics and Orthodox sing hymns and offer prayers to Mary. some hymns are disntictly idolatrous, in my opinion, exalting Mary as the saviour and one who gives redemption to mankind, exalting her above all the angels, etc etc.

But surely you knew all that, of course, which is why I do not understand what 'Mother of God' has to do with anything in this discussion.
