According to the apostle, the spirit of Antichrist is the spirit that denies that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
Thus, all who deny that the Holy Ghost is Jesus are antichrists.
Jesus Christ - which means THE MAN, the MESSIAH -
is come - that is, CURRENT, present tense, not past tense - in the flesh....
The only way Jesus Christ can PRESENTLY BE COME 'in the flesh' is in the flesh of His church, His people... and the only way he can do that is by His spirit.
So Jesus Christ is come in the flesh - NOW, CURRENTLY. The Spirit in the church is Jesus Christ come in the flesh, just as he promised he would in the closing chapters of John's gospel, when he said 'I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you'.
Good post, pharez.
