In my opinion when Scripture speaks of God being holy, it's like those that speak of God being just, compassionate, merciful, etc. It is an attribute. However, when speaking of love we read that God is not only loving... but God IS love.
My examples are as follows:
While God is just... God is not justice itself.
While God is merciful... God is not mercy itself.
While God is jealous... God is not jealousy itself.
While God is holy... God is not holiness itself.
However... God is love itself.
Thus love is:
just
merciful
holy
patient
kind
etc.
As a result... God is just, patient, merciful, holy, patient, kind, etc..
