God breathed means inspired by God. I dont know what they talked about.

God showed people visions and men described the vision in their own words

Re: Creation vs. Evolution Debate

It always amazes me in these discussions with people who think they can somehow understand, comprehend, and completely know every intricate detail that has to do with the Creator and His creation.

We have at most 100 years on this earth, if we are lucky. The Creator of this universe we live in, will live on, when we die. And it will not matter to Him what you think or do... but it will matter to YOU where you place your trust.

Many people say they do not trust anything, not even science, yet... they will climb on board an airplane, and place their lives into the hands of a pilot they do not know and trust that the pilot knows enough to get the plane from point A to B ... that is trust...

People trust the doctor who says he is "practicing medicine" and hope that he knows what he is doing... that is trust...

We drive on roads with huge bridges built by someone who we hope knew what they were doing, and we hope that the foundation will hold... that is trust...

By these examples you can see... we can't live in this world without trusting in something or someone... there are many things you do today that requires an element of trust in a "human being".... to do it.... why then is it so hard for us to trust in the Creator of this great universe we dwell in? The one who designed, created, crafted and put every little detail in order in this universe, we can't trust, yet we place our trust in human beings full of faults, failures, and mistakes!

I don't claim to understand much of anything in this world... but I've come to learn this... the Creator of this universe does know it ALL... it is His creation, and it runs in perfect order from the smallest detail to the greatest. I choose to place my trust in Him, far more than any human being that I may have to trust today in order to go about my daily business. And I know that when my life has finished its path on this earth... the universe will carry on without me....

And it will all really boil down to this when I die... what I thought or what I have done with my life will not change God one iota.... BUT it will matter to ME and my eternal destiny where I placed my trust.

And so because I am the one who will suffer if I do not trust.... then I place my trust in God, acknowledge I do not have all the answers, nor ever will.... but I do have faith... knowing that my faith will alter my eternal destiny... and that resolves this for me.

What I think about God will not affect God in a million years, but it will affect my eternal destiny.

I choose to believe God IS... and place my trust in Him... and there is peace for me in that. Whether the earth was created in 3 days, 3000 years, or 3 million light years... I don't care if God took 3 seconds to speak this universe into existence or if it took 3 million light years... the fact is that it is here, and we cannot claim to understand it, much as we will never really be able grasp the concept of eternity, in our time bound world we live in.

It really doesn't matter as men will continue to go on arguing the finer points of such discussions... but your eternity will determine your answer to this question... who are YOU trusting in?

Re: Creation vs. Evolution Debate

Just thought I would post this article in light of the discussion of creation...

The Professor Teaches About Evil and Christianity

"LET ME EXPLAIN THE problem science has with Jesus Christ." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand. "You're a Christian, aren't you, son?"
"Yes, sir."
"So you believe in God?"
"Absolutely."
"Is God good?"
"Sure! God's good."
"Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?"
"Yes."
"Are you good or evil?"
"The Bible says I'm evil."
The professor grins knowingly. "Ahh! THE BIBLE!" He considers for a moment. "Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure him. You can do it. Would you help them? Would you try?"
"Yes sir, I would."
"So you're good...!"
"I wouldn't say that."
"Why not say that? You would help a sick and maimed person if you could...in fact most of us would if we could....God doesn't."
[No answer]
"He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him. How is this Jesus good? Hmmm? Can you answer that one?"
[No answer]
The elderly man is sympathetic. "No, you can't, can you?" He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax. "In philosophy, you have to go easy with the new ones. Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?"
"Er... Yes."
"Is Satan good?"
"No."
"Where does Satan come from?"
The student falters. "From... God..."
"That's right. God made Satan, didn't he?" The elderly man runs his bony fingers through his thinning hair and turns to the smirking student audience. "I think we're going to have a lot of fun this semester, ladies and gentlemen." He turns back to the Christian. "Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?"
"Yes, sir."
"Evil's everywhere, isn't it? Did God make everything?"
"Yes."
"Who created evil?"
[No answer]
"Is there sickness in this world? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness. All the terrible things - do they exist in this world? "
The student squirms on his feet. "Yes."
"Who created them?"
[No answer]

I didn't realize that creation science museum in Kentucky even existed. In April my family will be in Indianapolis for a Jr Bible quiz extravaganza, only 1.5 hours away from it, so we r looking forward to visiting it.

Re: Creation vs. Evolution Debate

i believed in some hybrid of Creation via evolution until just recently, but I had to toss it for lack of evidence. Not one, single, intermediary skeleton? "Fail."

You tossed out all evolution, or just human evolution?

2days left. This is a well known and anticipated debate across the us. I am hoping it is somehow a key role in the reinstating of biblical creation in the public school textbooks, and atleast allowing students to critique evolutionary "based science."
