It is sad the way this mentally disturbed woman was used by the libs. She is obviously very unstable.
Losing a child could cause anyone without the Lord to go nuts but I think she was probably there beforehand.
The sad thing is that she has in fact been dishonoring the memory of her son as he was a supporter of the war effort as was her ex husband and other members of the family.

"Used" is definitely the right word.

She has. But as a "Mommy", I suppose she is seeing him as a hapless victim of the evil government, and he was probably still just a little boy in her eyes.
I just haven't been able to work up a lot of angst toward this woman. I feel she deserves sympathy, for her loss, and her state of mind. The democrats are the despicable ones, for taking advantage of such a person. Their exploitive abilities know no bounds.

I have felt the way you do until I see her on TV spewing hatred and stupidity toward our President and the Federal Government. Then my animosity gets a workout!!!

Well, we don't know this, but that's neither here nor there I suppose.

Well, Dig, I love and respect the posters here and many of them are quite passionate about this subject.
I don't want to offend them in any way...

Remember that CC1 and I have sons who are currently serving our country as Marines. Mrs. Sheehan brings disgrace to them by being used by the anti-war, anti-USA leftist agenda.
She is obviously mentally unstable, and holds Bush and the government accountable for the loss of her son, but she ALLOWED herself to be used with the carrot of fame!
My son goes to Iraq in September. If he gets killed (God forbid!) I will know that he died doing what he believed in. He loves working on the Osprey helicopter.

I know, Pianoman, and I have the utmost respect and admiration for Reagan and your son.
When Reagan was in Iraq, there was not a service that his name was not called from our pulpit for prayer...we will do the same for your son, my friend, and my sincere apologies if what I posted offended you.
I will delete my post and ask Dig to delete where he quoted me...again my apologies.

Being against the war is not being against the troops nor is it denigrating what they do or their reasons for doing so.
I want them to come home.

Barb, I wasn't offended at what you wrote! You were just speaking your heart!
I would like the US to pull out of Iraq also, but not at the cost of igniting a civil war that could unstabalize the entire region which would effect the whole world.
If the wrong people get control of the oil output of the world, they could bring the USA to it's knees. Our economy could crash, and we would all be regretting the day our armed forces pulled out! (Including the liberals!)
This is why we need to fight the oil company lobby and put our brightest minds into finding or inventing alternative fuels ASAP!
