According to Paul in Gal. 5 and elsewhere, we are either dominated by the works of the flesh or Walking in the Spirit and living a "sin free" lifestyle. Only we ourselves and God know what side of this we are on....

Well, I guess you're more righteous than Paul. Even he couldn't find this "Sin Free" lifestyle you're talking about:

"For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me."

And, you don't know what side your on because you haven't gotten there yet. None of us have.

Re: Question?

hmm, that might be harshly put, but i would agree, myself included, if for no other reason than that we are so completely spoiled in the US; even a Pentecostal, who may eschew many of the worldly trappings, is simply immersed in a self-serving culture.

Re: Question?

NFS, Jesus set us free from ANY sin that besets us. We are not allowed to have ANY besetting sin plaguing us. John said...he that committeth sin(continues in sin) is of the Devil.
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Were are sin free, but not sinless.(we can refuse to sin of any type)

Satan cannot cause us to fall into his sinful temptations any more. He is not our master anymore. Our old nature is crucified with Christ and on a cross. Jesus has given us His new nature. It is UNNATURAL for us to engage in habitual sins now.

2 Peter 1:3-4King James Version (KJV)
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Also, I do know if I am walking in the Spirit or not, the evidence to myself is if I am bearing the Fruit of the Spirit...
Gal 5,
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Re: Question?

I am amazed that some who once walked in truth can wander so far away and go so far into darkness. It breaks my heart to see these walk away for what is right to go into false religion or as some to walk completely away for God.

you're kidding, right? Got a mortgage, pastor? insurance? a car? you know people have to die so that you can fill that tank up, right? Did you sign any pledges to uphold some doctrine, regardless of any future unctions? (that would be a deal-breaker, as a pastor, imo) You really feel qualified to point a finger? I don't, personally.

I see that you are confident in your definition of God, Truth...the box is all sealed up there, huh? Nothing else to put in it, already?

Re: Question?

I am amazed that some who sought Truth so early could not see the lie they were being ushered into, nor hear the Holy Spirit leaving as those first few 'innocent babe-in-Christ' questions were not answered the way they had hoped. Tsk, tsk.

Re: Question?

Consider those rhetorical questions, gentlemen; and see that you are going to be speechless, "struck dumb" says Scripture, upon learning how far off the mark you were.

I am sorry but I don't understand your post. People have to die so I can fill my tank????

I makes me weep to think of people leaving truth. I hate to see anyone lost.
