Re: How to worship your pastor
We will all see in the end if the words of Paul were just baloney or not.

Are you saying something will happen to women ministers in the end?

Re: How to worship your pastor
well, i never said that Paul's words were baloney; just poorly interpreted. You (mostly) read exactly one translation of Scripture. Have you ever seen one of those exercises about how some verses may be translated wildly differently from our accepted ones? This seems to make it incumbent on a believer to at least be aware of the alternates, imo...of course, if you signed a pact, or pledge, no doubt this is discouraged?

Well, I am sure you can find a version somewhere in the "minority text" of the 50 or so other versions of the Bible to fit the concept you may have. The possibilities are endless...

Since day one they have had women ministers and pastors. If one were to look back in their directories from years ago, they might find it surprising just how many they had. While there have probably always been ministers in the group that were against such, they have continued to license women.
There is a 1952 directory available to see online. Take a look and note how much smaller the UPC would have been if they had not accepted women into the ministry.

Re: How to worship your pastor
Many precious women have been associated with the UPCi...Nona Freeman was one of the sweetest women I ever met...a true christian...so don't judge all but some goof ball you might know....many precious women have gleaned in God's fields...If you do not believe in them that is your business....to try to harm them God might have something to say about that....

I wouldnt dare speak against sis. Freeman. Only if she tried to teach or usurp authority over me....LOL(I would reject that for me because of these passages). I have heard her (testify) with her husband and she edified me. The main role of women in the early church was to teach women, not men.
Basically, I am against the domineering, loud, proud women that try to run the church congregations(even covertly).
I think Paul wanted the men to control the doctrinal situations of the congregations without female intervention. (that is why Jesus chose men to be Apostles in the early church). Outside of the congregational discussions, the women of the day could speak freely(they may have been allowed to prophecy in the congregations though, but I am not sure).

Nice try, tho! Ps, the "It's too clear to rebut" is strictly your opinion, and a clear sign, at least to me, that the doctrine is just another flawed one born of selfish premises. The translation there is the most chauvinistic one, by far, and i don't blame you for biting at it, but you should at least read the others.
