Re: Pentecostal Choruses
As we travel along (as we travel along)
On the Jericho Road (on the Jericho Road)
Does the world seem all wrong (does the world seem all wrong)
And heavy your load (and heavy your load)
Just bring it to Christ (just bring it to Christ)
Your sins all confess (your sins all confess)
On the Jericho Road (on the Jericho Road)
Your heart will be blessed (your heart will be blessed.)
On the Jericho Road (on the Jericho Road)
There's room for just two (there's room for just two)
No more and no less (no more and no less)
Just Jesus and you (just Jesus and you)
Each burden He'll bear, (each burden He'll bear)
Each sorrow He'll share (each sorrow He'll share)
There's never a care (there's never a care)
For Jesus is there (for Jesus is there)
Oh brother to you (oh brother to you)
This message I bring (this message I bring)
Though hope may be gone (though hope may be gone)
He'll cause you to sing (he'll cause you to sing)
At Jesus command (at Jesus command)
Sin's shackles must fall (sin's shackles must fall)
On the Jericho Road (on the Jericho Road)
Will you answer His call (will you answer His call.?)
On the Jericho Road (on the Jericho Road)
There's room for just two (there's room for just two)
(No more and no less) no more and no less)
Just Jesus and you (just Jesus and you)
Each burden He'll bear, (each burden He'll bear)
Each sorrow He'll share (each sorrow He'll share)
There's never a care (there's never a care)
(For Jesus is there) on the Jericho Road...

I see what you are saying, RW. Not completely sure I agree, but I do understand. But when there is a thread on here that I don't enjoy reading, I just don't read it. I think if these were horrible to me, I'd probably just not read the thread. Of course, it's up to you but..............

Oh, I agree. LOL
There is a bit of "I know this sore in my mouth hurts when I touch it but I just can't stop doing it" going on. BUT, I haven't read this thread that much either. It is not like I am reading every single new post with bated breath.

I gotcha, Randy.
I'm sorry that your time in the apostolic world left such a foul taste in your mouth, but I do understand. I don't have those same feelings because honestly the people I knew and know really are great folks. I may not agree with them, but they're still people I love and will always call my friends. I guess in that regard I am very blessed. So why am I not there now? Because no matter how much I love the people, it is not a LIFE-STYLE I choose. If I felt that God would be pleased if I were there, I would be there in a heartbeat. But since I think God is very happy with where I am right now, I am not moving until or unless HE tells me to.
Ok, folks, go on with the songs. I'm really enjoying them. Just wanted to say a little bit to my friend Randy.

Re: Pentecostal Choruses
I love all these old songs and grew up as a piano player at the UPC Church in South Haven, Michigan, Benton Harbor, Michigan and also played organ and keyboards for rallies and camp meetings. One thing about playing in the Apostolic Churches is that I certainly learned to play in every key. And I can play almost anything just by hearing it now. When someone got up and started singing I'd start plinking on the keys til I found out where they were and then had to listen closely to follow the singer. Even though I took several years of formal lessons they never, ever equipped me for the real world of gospel music the way playing for an Apostolic Church did! Those old choruses and songs are part of who I am and I'm forever grateful!

Re: Pentecostal Choruses
My mother, who is 76, has a songbook with many old time songs with the verses. "I Know the Lord Will Make a Way for Me" with all the verses and many more. One of my favorites was "Tell Me His Name Again". I also loved "Wasted Years". Her songbook is so precious to me--the songs are all handwritten in her handwriting. She is still to this day a beautiful singer--it is so precious to hear her sing. Dad was a singer, too, and was the song and praise leader for many long years. He passed away 12/5/2013. Oh to hear him sing "I Woke Up This Morning Feeling Fine" one more time...

Hello and welcome! I love the old songs too! Never was blessed to be a musician but, the Lord did allow me a small portion of talent to sing a little. I have always thought that those who play piano by ear, play the best!

That is wonderful that your mother is still able to sing songs unto the Lord. What a blessing I know that is for you. How many songs does she have written in the song book? I used to sing Wasted Years...it's been a long time though. I had actually forgotten some of those old songs. You ought to write out some here when you have time!
God bless!
