The MARK in Greek means an ETCHING or ENGRAVING, as an antithesis to the carved ten commandments that were to be put on the forehead and hand.
Saying that wearing a tattoo is a closer step towards getting the mark of the beast is like wearing glasses is the next thing to being like Jesus as a lamb with seven eyes.
