Did it December 23rd 2000.
I affirm the Biblical and historical testimony to baptism in Jesus Name, but that is not the source of my hope. My hope is in the person and work of Jesus Christ, not what the baptized said over me.

It turned out they had not yet believed at all. But if the Spirit is received at the moment of belief, then why ask the question? Had they believed they would have received the Spirit according to most Evangelicals. By Evangelical theological thought this question of Paul makes no sense. Then notice that even at baptism they did not automatically receive the Spirit. It was a few moments AFTER baptism that they received the Spirit.

Right because they were disciples of John. They were a distinct group from the disciples of Jesus (cf. Mark 2:18). IOW they were not Christians at all.

I'm interested, thats the point of dialogue. No I don't think you a jerk, I actually take a liking to you. I know that according to your view you think if I don't experience those things I'll be lost. I disagree. But to ease your mind, I have, so we can keep this dialogue on scripture interpretation, you don't need to worry about converting me. But I'm not offended by you, so feel free to say what you want.

Oh no. I was rebaptized in Jesus' name by a minister. However, I did it having become convinced that was how the apostles baptized, and wanting to have practiced what I'd be teaching others from that point on. I did not do it because I thought I was still lost or still carrying around my sin.

One thing that TRULY amazes me is God's Love for us... like the scripture says "When we were yet sinners Christ died for us..." ( Romans 5:8) Now I too believe in Pentecostal oneness, but sometimes we as Christians can tend to tell someone something or quote a scripture until we are blue in the face! But brother it is for GOD to reveal his "ONENESS" to people, not ALWAYS us! Sometimes all we do is make it worse. Sometimes it's just best to pray for people, leave it in HIS hands, and for GOD to reveal it to them. If a person has accepted Christ into their heart and is going to a Christian church PERIOD it is a STEP IN THE RIGHT direction brother I believe many of us will be surprised one day at HOW MANY PEOPLE DO make it into the kingdom of heaven! I have met and seen plenty of people who are NOT Pentecostal and who are living for the Lord, living in his will, and being used of Him. I too was raised in a Christian church other than Pentecostal... I too was a non-Pentecostal years ago and God was working in my life and using me.BUT I NOW know that this Pentecostal Oneness IS for me... Because of GOD'S revelation to me... not man's! I wouldn't trade it for the world! Sadly though, we as Pentecostals are NOT perfect (although many may pretend to be!) People in the world recognize Christians because of their willingness to stand for what we believe in but ESPECIALLY our love for others AND for God! John 15:12

Well my brother, I am glad you were baptized. My baptism is a landmark point in my life that I can say I was freed from sin...Hallelujah.

Great post, however I would like to exhort you to teach those that are not baptized in the name of Jesus, that they must be.(those underlined). We honor those that are partially into the kingdom of God for their steps, but that is why the Lord gave US the revelation we have(to lead them the rest of the way in ) and not to give them assurance to stop at the point they are at towards the kingdom. If you are stepping on toes, you are right there with the Apostles and Jesus Himself in ministry.(they stepped on toes all the time). If we compromise the original message of Acts 2 for mankind, we will be overlooked by the Lord for truth teaching ministry and He will find someone else to do it.(not good)

Re: All Trinitarians are Lost!!!!!!!!!!!
[quote=originalist;1324685]i made these comments and did not get a response. I was hoping to get feedback...
I know a preacher who says nothing when he baptizes. He has the candidate repent as confess jesus as lord then he dunks them.
Another preacher does not use a formula, but quotes romans 6:4 when he baptizes somebody saying....
Are these two examples going to hell because the pastor did not use the word "name" or the word " baptize"?
I do not believe that the lord is sending folks to hell for not being baptized. They simply are not yet in the body of christ. If they die that way, they are not officially in the body, so they will be judged by the law according to rev. 20 like the rest of humanity. Many will indeed be found in the book of life there.
I am offering an insurance policy to Mark 16:16 to folks to escape the rev 20:14 situation altogether and partake in the "1st resurrection"....
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned
Rev. 20:6 blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
