Basically, you can say you teach and preach the Bible, but ultimately it will be your interpretation that you are preaching and teaching, and someone else may see it differently, and both of you may be right in some way.
For example, I remember that ILG shared a scenario a while back, and I don't remember which post, but if I can paraphrase it (maybe she can repost it here), but two men were given instructions to "draw the curtain". One man took a piece of paper, and drew a picture of the curtain. The other got up, went to the window and pulled the curtain closed. Whose interpretation of the command "draw the curtain" was right? It is all a matter of opinion.

The correct interpretation would be the intent of the instructor. Did the person giving instruction desire a picture of the curtains to be drawn, or did they desire the curtains to be closed. While there may have been two plausible interpretations of the instruction, only one was right.

Maybe BOTH are right. Draw the curtain so he will have enough light to draw the curtain.

The intention of the person who gave the instruction is the only correct interpretation.

That is true, but that is still the only correct interpretation. If there is more that one feasible interpretations of an instruction, one may be right, or neither may be right, but it is impossible for two or more different interpretations to be right.

Re: Has Steve Pixler left Apostolic Conservatism?
I havent seen Him in a few years,he has preached in our church,we would be considered very conservative,we have young ladies in our church that have small tattoos that visible ,no one looks down on them ,they are definitely hg filled and look it ,I'm sure we have some guys who are tatted but the shIrt covers it ,face it some kids have them on their neck and face ,so do we exclude them from service ? No ,if someone shows up in slacks and greets some one our pastor wouldn't stop them ,he has said we should be christian enough to accept all people in all different walks ,he doesn't look down on you if you don't have a tie on so I'm not ready to say bro pixler has gone off the so called reservation I think I know what he means,I like him !

I've heard that two churches within the UPC who average over 1000 in attendance will announce their departure soon, as well.
Thank God for truth!

I don't know much about most of this thread. What i do know is that reading these quotes this is the first time in a long time i've been genuinely interested in getting a sermon CD/mp3.
