Re: If you have to wear make-up to be accepted....

Don't have time to read the thread, but somewhat amazed that a quote from 2009 can get so much attention...

No, the whole world just happens to be looking our way.

They were fat BEFORE the "international" obesity crisis!

But what this thread doesn't mention is that many fat women are GORGEOUS because they are "thick and curvy".

Who would want to be with a surf board?

Big hips are NATURALLY attractive!

Daughters of Zion, for whom Christ died, being called fat, ugly, and being compared to whales for their obesity. That's pretty sad, shameful even.

Yes, gluttony is a sin. But where's the compassion? Compulsive over-eaters usually have very serious, spiritual problems of the soul that need ministry and anointing, so, that, if a woman would be free from the underlying issues, she might be able to adjust her actions accordingly, and so, walk in the liberty of Christ.

Instead, women in this way just get blasted, mocked, made fun of, and more than anything, end up on the receiving end of someone's contempt. That is below the righteous standard of Christ Jesus.

Who would like to obtain mercy from the Lord for their sins and issues? Then go and do likewise to the woman (or man) facing a different sin and issue than you.

This isn't a Oneness Pentecostal issue. It's a Western Civilization issue, mostly in the United States. It's a matter of public health and wellness. Criticizing a woman for being obese, and yet men get a pass? Or worse, other sins and the destruction those sin wreak upon the body, somehow get less scorn because they don't make a person's outward appearance change enough to warrant disgust? Really?

When did we stop caring about the inward spirit of a woman? You know, she of quiet meekness, which in the sight of God is of a great price?

And if you want to avoid hypocrisy, then make sure you go up to the next overweight Oneness Pentecostal woman in a jean skirt, with facial blemishes, and tell her what you really think about her appearance. Make sure you call her a whale, too. While you're at it, maybe put a "wideload" sign on her back when she isn't looking.
Yup i agree . . . the thing is that I have seen overweight people work and work to lose weight with little result. I have also seen the skinniest people do nothing and eat like there is no tomorrow and never gain.

God said all the fat belong to the Lord. The majority of the time in scripture when the word fat is used it is in a positive light. Just saying.
Can all you fat folks say amen.

No. What we can say is that some people apply these scriptures as principles to prohibit make-up.
