With all the death and destruction that's been done in the name of religion, you don't think it's a good idea to keep religion out of the government??? God save the world from religious zealots with power!!!
Did you know that when early converts became Christians they would (and were expected to) resign from both political and military positions? Because it was believed that Christians should not kill, and should not be involved in politics.
That doesn't much line up with today's conservative religious right, does it?
