Let's Remember and Pray for Christians in Iraq
This was just on the news this afternoon. It is shocking. 40,000 Christians from the largest Christian city in Iraq have fled the city to a mountaintop, and are in dire need.
"According to the U.N., between 35,000 and 50,000 fled to nearby Mount Sinjar and other areas, "reportedly surrounded by ISIS armed elements" and lacking water and other aid.
The Washington Post detailed dire circumstances, reporting Thursday that thousands of families hiding on Mount Sinjar are desperate for help and that Iraqi government airdrops of aid are not sufficient. According to the Post, some water bottles also cracked open during the drop.
Reuters reported Thursday that a rescue is underway, and some of the thousands trapped on the mountain have been brought to safety. "
I have been praying for persecuted Christians around the world, but we need to especially hold these people up before the Lord, and to realize that their needs today, may one day be our own here, if these kind of terrorist acts ever get to be carried out on our American soil.

Amen. Praying for these families!
We sure sometimes don't even begin
to imagine what real persecution is.

I meant to include the link to the article in my previous post, and just realized I didn't. Here it is:

No, we have no idea. Can you imagine 40,000 people stranded on a mountain, surrounded by the Islamic militants? It certainly appears that they are trying to draw the US back into another war.

They are not Christians. Nonetheless yes do be praying for them. They are Yazidi. If they were Christians our country probably would not consider helping them. Muslims will kill anybody and everybody who will not convert.

I am glad they are helping them at least with water. If they were Christians I doubt they would be helping.

Well good grief!
Even if they were Christians, they would be going to hell for not obeying Acts 2:38 as prescribed by the 20th century new birth, water and spirit, Apostolic preachers.
