Many are like the Pharisees - always willing to debate about some man-made standard, but refusing to acknowledge or take to heart any teaching about heart issues, because it might come too close to home. Instead, they would far rather rant and rave about some man-issued edict, than to deal with issues of the heart, from which come forth the real issues of life ....

Just trying to do my part to help.
We should consider the following verses as the standard and foundation of the apostolic faith:

Heb. 6:1-2
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

1. Repentance from dead works
2. Faith towards God
3. Doctrine of baptisms
4. Doctrine of laying on of hands.
5. Resurrection of the dead
6. Eternal judgment.

No more. No less.

Amen to that...that is exactly what I have observed from most of them so far...

Great

I shall make sure these are written in a nice plaque so that I can always remember that these are the foundation of the church.

Hope not, but these should be the foundational teachings of any church.

Then we can start piling other teachings in top of them.
