No one is being asked not to speak it ever .... this is where the EXTREMISM ... DRIVES ME NUTS .... ending a prayer w/ ... "In your name" does not diminish it's efficacy ... sorry.
and I believe in the power and authority of the name of Jesus ...
But respectfully, how do you know she would be quenching the Spirit?! Do the singers in your church speak in tongues every time they sing?! Do you speak every time you pray?!
Pastor P, Vicki is a minister in song...have been there and experienced it. She's not there for recognition or to get a 'gig'...the girl has it going on.
So if she prayed and feels good about it, my prayer is Lord, minister through her once again!!
Here's my experience with Diva Vicki.
Whatever.
Btw, when is NFCF going to reopen? Is it still on track for a July revamp?
If you were invited to lead a prayer at a municipal function and but could only say "Father" or "In your Name" you wouldn't do it .... PP ... just on that premise????

This doesn't equate to not being allowed to say Jesus?

I can see what tam and others are saying, but let me share what happened here in Flint when you came several months ago.
You rose to the mic, spoke from your heart and sang with anointing...the Spirit of God moved in the room in a REAL and powerful way, and you ministered to me greatly.
I don't recall that your spoke one word in tongues...you may have, but I don't recall it.
The point I am ineptly trying to make is that the Spirit moves in many ways and you can be YOU and real and Spirit led, bending to their wish and show the love of Christ.
We may never know who will be touched by the Spirit of God in a way they have never known before. I say go and let the Lord use you, and no, it is NOT selling out!! JMHO...
I agree. And I think all you have to do is step to the mic and the anointing follows. The reason I asked how well you know the people heading it was to see what kind of conversation you could have with them.
I posted on the Baptist speaking in tongues thread that I think God is going to pour out His spirit in the Baptist people in this last day like nothing we have seen before. I grew up southern Baptist and my heart cries out to God for them. I know they are hungry. And I know worship is a key that is going to lead them into more truth.
I guess the thing that disturbed me when I read it was that they asked you specifically to not do it.
