What we are expected to do is often unreasonable in light of scripture. So whether someone expects it or not, what is the Lord's will? And the idea that it is God's will if the pastor says it is, despite lack of scripture, then I kindly disagree.
There are laws in each country that might seem silly to me, but that doesn't mean that I do not abide by them. In the Army, you are not allowed to have a beard (unless you have a shaving profile, but even then you still must shave every so often). Do you break laws or rules even if you don't agree with the silliness of them?
