Re: D-Day for Michael Brown Grand Jury
It's hard to bring charges when evidence doesn't support any charges. You know Holder desperately wanted to charge both Zimmerman and Officer Wilson with some kind of civil rights violation. Surprised they didn't try to fabricate some kind of evidence against them.

Re: D-Day for Michael Brown Grand Jury
Watched a feed from LiveStream around midnight last night. There were close to 50 or more police in riot gear lining up against some pretty peaceful protestors at a designated "safe place" somewhere in Ferguson. It looked like the crowd there was mostly yuppie white college kids. There were quite a few blacks in the crowd, but not as many. In between the cops and the protestors was an older, white, female clergy. Along with her was another person in a hoodie with a hankerchief covering most of his/her face. Both were moving back and forth between the protestors and the police, acting as a type of buffer. Several times, both went and spoke with what appeared to be a head officer in charge, then they would talk to the crowd and move them off the street onto the sidewalks. From what I saw before I turned it off and went to bed was peaceful, though it appeared the cops were getting ready to make some kind of move. They drove a large state corrections bus up to the corner as though they were expecting to start arresting en mass.
Then this morning I found a couple other LiveStream feeds recorded from last night which showed several buildings burning to the ground. In those feeds you could hear what sounded like gunshots or possibly concussion grenades or the sound of the tear gas guns shooting off.

Re: D-Day for Michael Brown Grand Jury
The real black community was in their homes, and watching as the thugs hit the streets to discredit and give race relations another black eye.
With all the political pressure, if there had been sufficient evidence the grand jury would have at least brought back a manslaughter charge, to try to defuse the situation. Fortunately, seems they understood that that would have just given more time for this to fester and there to be an even bigger blow up. Poor communities need the police more than any other, to protect the innocence from the thugs that congregate there. They cannot allow the thugs to sour the relations with law enforcement.

Re: D-Day for Michael Brown Grand Jury
I read back in the summer when the first riots began, that most of the rioters weren't Ferguson residents, but outside instigators.
I was saddened to see the destruction of property on the feed this morning. The perps who burned the buildings down likely don't even live around there, so they're not affected by their actions. Unfortunately, the real residents stayed home and didn't do something to protect their city.

IIRC, where these riots happened isn't too far from Urshan School of Theology or the UPCI HQ, correct?

Actually, out of 80 arrests, 60 were from Ferguson. So the hometown thugs were in the streets.
