Bro Epley, while we may disagree on the beard question, I do support your pastoral authority. You are correct to make decisions in this regard.

Sorry but I disagree. Pastors do not have authority in those areas to demand no beards. Times of services are totally different. My opinion, though. I deem it as cultic. Again, my opinion.

It's not a matter of right and wrong, but how much stock you have in your status quo account. Of course, a little stock in Schick never hurt either...saving is expensive you know.
I consider myself pretty UC, go to a pretty UC church, i do NOT think facial hair is wrong. I think the prohibition is merely a tradition in Pentecost and have no problem submitting to my pastor's authority on the matter, there are no beards found on our platform... BUT I do not in any way look down on my Apostolic brethren who choose to wear facial hair.
Though at times it bothers me when preachers (visiting and from going to other churches/meetings, i have never heard my pastor mention it) try to make out like its a sin for a man to have hair on his face. Really perterbs me, don't allow it, make it a platform standard, whatever, but don't try to say its wrong/sinful/ungodly/unholy!!!!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with disagreeing.
But when a preacher demands church members to not do something as though it were bible, when the reason behind it is as oddball as what it is against beards, then the pastor has no such authority. That is treating this rule as though it were bible. It's not a matter of whether or not one claims it is IN the bible for it to be adding to the Word, but whether or not it is a rule that POSES as though it WERE in the bible. Do what the bible says AND ALSO THIS, to be a church member. It gives the congregation a false understanding of what God wants.
