because they have stars in their eyes where America is concerned; they hear anecdotes of a 1950s America that no longer exists, and people being people, see greener grass here, as there are no jobs to speak of there, because of course their gov has monetized anything worth anything, and sold it to the developed world, and the people are left out.
Everyone wants to be in the land of plenty, with the gluttons, getting diabetes and cancer; and of course the stories don't include the pimps, the whores, the exotic dance clubs, crack smokers, casinos, and unattainable health care. And the rampant ignorance; yikes, to hold an intelligent conversation with an 11 year old Bedouin again...
