The Constitution does not have any stipulation against an income tax. In fact, one could argue that the call for the "general welfare" (not to be confused with the welfare state) is grounds for exercising an income tax. However, I am all for an alternative system to income tax. I'm not sure this is the best solution, but I'd love to at least see one be seriously considered by congress.
Remember, the American Revolution was *NOT* about taxation, it was about taxation with *NO* representation.
Mind you, I think we're nearing a point where one could argue we're almost there again.
