Yes. I know... and I will continue to disagree with him when he is off base.

Well, that is the byproduct of him being the teacher, prophet, apostle, he posted in the eschatology section that he had the call on his life to straighten out the church, or Pentecost. Anyway, when men think that way (just think of my brother Frank if you will) their cognitive dissonance increases to such an extent that any sort of contradicting information that comes to them must be rejected at any cost. Because they are The Teacher, and therefore since they are the pitcher all else must be the catchers. No way around that, if he believes you must leave Florida because God gave Him a dream, then you need to leave.

No question, no debate, because God told The Teacher, and therefore you don't need God to tell you anything. Here is a issue, where anyone who opposes someone with this sort of thinking must face. So, if they tell you that you must believe the KJV without questions, then that is it? To challenge the KJV is to challenge GOD. Don't believe aliens are really demons flying in UFOs, well then you are risking coming against God. You see how it works.

It is chaotic, but that sort of chaos runs rampant in religions of all sorts and sadly it runs throughout Christendom. Hence Jim Jones, David Koresh, Wayne Bent, and others who have heard a voice.

Not saying that God can't speak to people, but when God speaks to people He isn't contradicting His Word.

Oneness should be better than that at building credible and solid arguments. We should never stoop to sensationalism to make our point. Someone once asked me why I use the KJV when there are so many translations that are easier to read. I told him I would rather raise my reading level to the KJV than to bring God's Word down to mine. He said that was the best reason he had ever heard of why you should read the KJV. That's my personal feelings and I can't impose that on anyone else.

I live east TN where KJV-O is the norm. I've heard preachers tell young converts to throw their NKJV's in the river (with a hateful attitude). I've also talked to people that said they would read the Bible more if they could use a translation they could understand. KJV-O's in my area attack with venom and hatred and they are running people away from Church. They will stand before God for this! They have harmed his little ones!

We can find ANY oneness doctrine in ANY popular translation (KJV, NKJV, ESV, NASB, NIV). If I HAVE to have a specific translation to build my doctrine, then I'm in the area of a cult and I need to reevaluate my doctrine.

I've only talked to two groups that HAD to have the KJV in order to build their doctrines. The first was a trinitarian that HAD to have 1 John 5:7 in order for the trinity to make sense to them. The other was a non-pentecostal Church of God. They were preaching against speaking in tongues. They used Ac 2:7-8 to say that only the men spoke with tongues.

Sean is helping both of those groups in making their points. Don't help them!

I also know MANY people that will not listen to anyone using a KJV. They think it's based on bad manuscripts. Instead of arguing about which translation to use, I pick up their ESV and show them the oneness of God and the plan of salvation. Dt 6:4, Isa 9:6, Mk 12:29, Jn 3:5, Ac 2:38, 3:19, 4:12, 8:16, 9:5, 10:44-48, 19:1-5, 22:16, Gal 3:20, 1 Tim 2:5, 3:16, 1 Pet 3:21, and on and on, still prove that there is one God who was manifest in the flesh to save us from our sins and he provided a free gift of salvation by his grace. We accept it by repenting of our sins, being baptized in his name, being filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost, and living a holy life through prayer and reading of God's Word. These doctrines are the same even if I bring them to God in the NIV, ESV, NASB, NKJV, KJV, etc. God gave us tools to use. Use them. If it takes a KJV to capture your audience then use it. If it takes an ESV, use it. Preach to them Christ and him crucified, not your favorite English translation.
This is what I think about translations and you ignored it.

Show me in Scripture where we have to use only one translation. If you cannot, then you are adding to God's Word.

Re: What's with all the new Bible versions?

It was only about a video. I only BELIEVE I have an infallible KJV Bible. This(believe) idea makes folks rabid.

They want their Bibles to be wrong.(so they can use whatever version they so desire, trusting all modern translators)
