Re: Windows 10 for free?
I have a laptop with Windows 8. Don't use it a whole lot, but I don't get what the fuss is about that version. It's not hard to navigate at all.

Congratulations. You are officially both a genius and a one of a kind! You probably could be listed in the next Guinness Book of World Records as the only person going on record as liking Windows 8. If you write Microsoft and tell them that they will probably send you a free Surface Pro 3.

I'm no genius, but I really have no issue with my laptop. There is one thing I'm not fond of, but it's not a big deal to me....the start menu is different. I liked the old start menu. And again, not a big deal because it works and has everything I need. Perhaps I just don't use it enough, since I turn it on maybe once a week or less. Most of the things I do online I do with my phone.
I would love to get a free Surface Pro 3!

Re: Windows 10 for free?
Turned on the laptop yesterday to download Windows 10. There was a notification icon in the tray, but when I clicked on it, it just opened the "Get Windows 10" window which said to wait for the download.
Anyone running 10 yet?

I'm running it. It's far better than 8. It brought back the start menu and it adds recent files to the file explorer folder.
It also solved an issue that started last week where I had an error and had to restart because it didn't detect a system fan (HP Envy laptop). There're still some issues, but at least I can run it now without having to remove the battery and restarting.
It's my favorite since XP and 7.

A pad and pencil would be better than Windows 8!
