Re: Should women be in the military
I sure would not want to be in the military....however there might be a need in some areas such as book keeping and office work ....however as a general answer I would say no.

Re: Should women be in the military
and I do appreciate any person that has protected our country...not trying to knock anyone. My father was in the military and fought in WW 2...my cousin fought in one of the wars...war is a terrible thing to say the least....

Right... women can be in the military as a support system (nursing, office work, food etc)... but should never be in active combat, in my opinion.

Re: Should women be in the military
In ministry we sometimes must reach people where they are at, but I think we should try to lead people in the right direction. I believe that many are made afraid to emphasize the importance of the male and female roles for fear of being labeled a male chauvinist. Men must be men, and must not be afraid of what others may think or say.
I have been thinking much about the distinctions taught by our OP's about male and female dress, and I think that it is important, but we should place more emphasis on the relationship roles of male and female.
So many families living without a father and a mother.
So many families suffer because they don't know what is expected to be a father or a mother.
So many children who suffer with gender identity and homosexuality.
The Church needs to teach the truth about these things. I hold no grudge against ladies in the service, and I give honor for their personal sacrifice. The problem lies within American culture and not with individual ladies. The church needs to stand in love for the order of creation. I want to see this nation turn around. I hope and pray it is not too late.

I agree but like my mother used to tell me. Charity starts at home. Before we can pray for our nation we have to fix ourselves, the church.

Re: Should women be in the military
I have no problem with women serving in the military in some armed combat roles and in all armed combat support roles.
If I ever have a daughter and she ever wanted to join the military, I would try to personally dissuade her, but not for any of the reasons that have been mentioned.
If I fail to dissuade her, I would still support her in her decision and love on her all the more-- especially my daughter.
I would ENCOURAGE my sons to serve in the U.S. military.

Better Question. Should Christians serve a combatant role in military?

Did Jesus or the apostles require soldiers to go AWOL or become conscientious objectors?
