LOL!! Usually after a post like that some conservative will post something about how they are sorry I had a bad experience, am bitter, etc which is kind of funny because I never had any kind of conflict while UPC and did not leave over any conflict. I just did agree with the extra biblial legalism and a few other things.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Oh, it is because you're just jealous.

Re: AMC -Nashville

I hate when I hear a pastor say, "I took a cell phone from someone"....(not talking about children) I heard a pastor say that not too long ago and I thought, "that will never take sin from the person's heart"...and the end story was the person made the pastor look like a fool...sad so sad...
I am thankful that all my life I have had a shepherd not someone lording over me and using scare tactic's....I am so blessed.

Re: AMC -Nashville

In my experience those that harp and harp on certain issues usually have problems along those lines....when looking for a pastor ...look for balance...

Re: AMC -Nashville

The goal of this thread was to find messages from AMC (which has been accomplished).

Thanks for everyone's input.

Re: AMC -Nashville

Maybe that's why so many on the left side of Pentecost harp on greasy grace and love and harp and harp against a good man trying to do his best to prepare a bride? Because they struggle with grace love and compromise.

I wonder ...
