I'm fairly new to this forum but my sense is there are a few committed OP adherents and a lot of disgruntled ex-adherents with all sorts of axes to grind.

Right. Trinitarian Calvin Beisner says in the first of his book on the trinity that IT IS NOT TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE. The teaching only explains why things are in the bible, but the teaching itself is not in the bible.
