Sean where does this say this temple is a literal temple on the earth? It does not except in your imagination. Jesus said the "law and prophets prophesied till John" Meaning that they all pointed to the time that John began his ministry declaring the kingdom of God had come. Jesus sent his disciples out to preach the Kingdom of God had come.
Passage after passage in the new testament teach us that we are the temple of God and Christ sits on the throne of our hearts. This is the temple of God this passage is addressing. Not some literal temple in Jerusalem.
The whole point of the cross was God changing from a literal earthly temple to a spiritual temple in the hearts of his people.

So you think the Lord was misleading the prophet, all of Israel and average Christian readers in the passage?
He never meant that He was building the temple Himself, even though it says he would?
I believe it exactly like it says it.
The Lord builds a physical temple, He destroys the earth at the end of the Age, then the temple is never to be seen again, because the LORD is the "spiritual" temple in heaven after the new Heaven and Earth are created......
Rev 21;22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
