Re: Changing To Preterism from Rapture Doctrine

But this still does not make me full preterist. And as i said, i really doubt that you could find a full preterist that has no future hope--you misrepresent them in order to make the futurist position the "right" one, when there is no "right" doctrine of men. They are pov's, and should be held as such, imo.

Awesome shazeep, you said it is referring to only that particular generation.

Now let us see the passage and see if you still agree with it being that particular generation...

4 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Shazeep, did this happen in that generation?

Re: Changing To Preterism from Rapture Doctrine

i said it could be interpreted that way, not that you have to interpret it that way. And while we are on this subject--i have no desire to change your mind on what interpretation the Holy Spirit has provided for you in this passage; and do not deny that your interpretation is valid, ok?

We see many examples of foreshadowing in Scripture, and this trying to pin a prophecy to a date, and thereby exclude every other instance, is just bad juju, imo.

So with that said, i think Micah 4:5 is the answer to this particular question, as you must admit that worshipping other gods does not fit the futurist position very well.

Or that particular group of people who would be offered peace by a Prince of Peace.

For, behold, the Lord cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the HIGH PLACES of the earth.

Now verse four is what shag was trying to pry out of you like pulling impacted molars.

And the mountains shall be MOLTEN under him, and the valleys shall be CLEFT, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.

Does this happen in the past at the siege of Lachish (Micah 1:13)? Or somewhere off in the far distant future?

Yet can you explain why you bfirst placed chapter 1 of Micah in 722 BC and then place it in the future? While I see no problem with doing this you first must explain some questions your teaching is creating. What temple is God leaving to destroy pagan worship areas known to the prophet as high places? In verse 13 of chapter 1 of Micah it speaks of a prophecy specifically concerning the city of Lachish? Is this the future or is it in the past? If past how is the prophet relaying that to his listeners? Also in Jeremiah 26:18 the prophet refers back to the prophet Micah in chapter 1 to show that Micah was correct when he said God would leave His sanctuary and destroy the places of paganism in Israel. From what Jeremiah says he believed Micah's words were fulfilled and using them as an example for what would happen during his lifetime.

Sean maybe you should answer my question instead of throwing me your Google searches. Searches which you don't understand or are able to explain.
Sean you are going to spend all of Saturday trying to bury my posts?

Re: Changing To Preterism from Rapture Doctrine

to honor the OP, it strikes me that one might concentrate on the passages that seem to describe a future earthly perfection, little kids playing with snakes, etc, lions eating grass, and how a full preterist deals with them.
