There are different uses of the indefinite article. Observe:

- You can't convert a Muslim to Christianity (the single Muslim stands in for ALL Muslims)

- A Muslim converted to Christianity (a specific Muslim not indicative of any other Muslim but the one who converted).

How is this so hard to understand?
