The scripture is clear. Covered or uncovered. Covered means hair. Uncovered means NO hair. I don't think SEMI-covered is mentioned.

What would that be? Both involve the total removal of hair. Shaving is down to the skin where shorn isn't, but it's very close.

Is there a difference between short like being closely cropped or being bald ,than having long tresses of hair ?

From the dictionary:

shave--to cut off (hair, as the beard) at the surface of the skin.

shear (shorn)--to remove(hair, wool) by cutting.

I don't know if there is much of a distinction.
