Russia blows up Turkish convoy
Just heard that a convoy of Turkish military vehicles, operating "illegally" inside Syria, was destroyed by Russian forces not too long ago. Turkey claims this was a "humanitarian relief convoy" and declared Russia's action as "an act of war".
Turkey is claiming 7 dead, ten plus wounded.
Please fasten your seatbelts and place your trays in the upright position...

Turkey violated international law by shooting the Russian jet down. Even if the jet was in Turkey's airspace, the only lawful way to shoot it down would be in self defense if Russia was attacking Turkey.
And yet, our dumb president rushes to condemn Russia instead of Turkey.
Good for Russia. There should be consequences for Turkey shooting down a jet. I'd rather it be an actual military target, like a military base, and I'm hoping the report isn't true that this was a humanitarian convoy, but maybe next time those Sunnis muslims will think twice before jumping the gun and shooting a Russian plane down.

"Turkey has informed the United Nations that two Russian planes disregarded warnings and violated Turkish airspace "to a depth of 1.36 miles and 1.15 miles in length for 17 seconds."
Stupid Turks. If the US did this every time a Russian plane came into US airspace near Alaska or the west coast, it'd be all out war.
And obama defended this absurdity.

Re: Russia blows up Turkish convoy
If anyone thinks that Turkish convoy was a 'humanitarian relief effort' I got some bridges in Arizona overlooking the ocean to sell them.

Re: Russia blows up Turkish convoy
In all fairness to Turkey Russia had been violating Turkish airspace for several weeks at a increasing pace and the Turkish government gave Russia repeated warnings to stop doing it.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Really? So Russia can fly a Nuclear bomber across the US and we can do nothing until it drops a bomb?

Are you sure? I always thought I heard they came near but were still in International waters

That's an extreme example, and no, Russia could not.
The use of force is justified in defending national borders, but usually a clear and imminent threat is required to resort to such drastic measures.
Two jets passing through the tip of Turkey for 17 seconds, making no threat to Turkey is not enough to shoot them down.
Turkey should be reprimanded, not defended.
Consider this, "In 2005, Turkey entered Greek airspace 1,017 times, or as often as 40 times a day," according to a WikiLeaks document.
Perhaps Greece should start blowing Turkish jets out of the sky when Turkey violates Greece's airspace.

And yet, with all those violations, not one time did Russia threaten Turkey. Turkey's President even wrote that Turkey considered Russia as a "friendly" neighbor.
With friends like Turkey....
BTW...

Turkey is lucky Greece is a doormat and doesn't care about it's sovereignty, else Turkish jet wreckages would be littering the coast.
