Trump doesn't have the 1237 either, so the race isn't over.
Apples to oranges on Texas and NY. Cruz won a majority in a very crowded field. Trump was running against two other people.
The real news is that Trump didn't even get a majority in his own district - where Trump Tower stands. I guess 48% of the people don't really like him.
He won less than half the votes that Hillary won and 2/3 as many as Sanders.
The reality - Trump dominated in the context of a state with a small minority of GOP voters.
NY wasn't really that big of a deal, that's why it would be a non-factor if Trump were able to win the nomination. He won't be winning the state in the General.
The NY values comment made by Ted Cruz, taken out of context by the help of the media on both sides (or are they now on the same side?)- Sean Hannity, Rush, etc., won't be a problem for Cruz going forward.
I also, once again, agree with Ben Shapiro - "The entire case for Trump is that he represents people who stayed home for Romney. You don't get to complain if we stay home for Trump."
