it is tempting to say that, and does seem absurd, until one considers that Hitler was elected into office, and slave trading was legal. I doubt E45 is trying to conflate these with..."true believers?" but to make a different point, which i can see in my mind, but can't seem to put words to. Christ rejected a worldly crown, yet we imagine that we can legislate the advance of the kingdom, perhaps. It is tempting for me to imagine that i would be a Godly potus if i had the chance, or that i might elect a Godly potus, but i think these are both illusions.
