I think one of the coolest clips I saw was a girl singing Shackles..by Mary Mary... She got on stage and tore it up!

I remember the "Shackels" song. It was awesome. Simon looked at her after the song and said that he just didn't get it. I wanted to slap him.

I think she has a wonderful voice, but no way can she be an American Idol...not because she can't sing but because she would have to lower her standards...you have to wear makeup and dress differently and be able to dance you have to appeal to the young crowd...

I think there is a conspiracy against the men this year. Have you noticed the uneven level of talent this year? The women are definitely better all around.

I am "withholding" judgement on the guys until next week. I think they had a bad case of nerves...because some of them did not sound like anything we heard did the previous auditions. I hope my thought here is correct.....

The girls last night were good. But, the black girls outsang everyone else...HANDS DOWN! ESPECIALLY LAKISHA!!! That girl sang with such passion...she was living that song. MAN!!!!!

I have short hair in comparison to most...it is midway down my back...it is also very fine and thin so it's hard to work with at times...I am always trying new things to get more body.

Well tonight 4 get bumped off...next week and each week after things can change a lot. The thing I saw in the ladys is those that did really well showed confindence...

Some of the contestants will get help with their "look" and sound, and will become more appealing as the weeks go by.

Also keep in mind that each contestant got to sing a song of their choice this week. Soon they will be asked to sing a certain style of song, and some of them may sound great on only one particular style of music.

There are a few of the guys that could win it all IMO. The first round is a ball of nerves for the contestants, and I expect a big improvement next week!

BTW, I'm pulling for the shy black girl from my town; Brentwood, Tennessee!
