Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so:
but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous:
but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God:
for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone;
thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly

An ungodly man diggeth up evil:
and in his lips there is as a burning fire

An ungodly witness scorneth judgment:
and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
Judgments are prepared for scorners,
and stripes for the back of fools.

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

It would appear to me, God is against the ungodly. The things that him sayen will not produce godliness, but the ungodly would contend against those things of a clear and clean life in obeying the word of God. the righteous man will obey the word, because he is Godly.

Seems to me that Jesus was against self righteous hypocrites who fashioned themselves as "the godly" and was always accused by them of being a friend of sinners.

Here we go..you think holiness people are not friends to sinners?! I have plenty of friends who are sinners and they know and respect what I believe. Very seldom do I EVER have any conflict with sinners over the Bible because most of them who know me know that I live what I believe and genuinely care about people. I would say that generally that is true of most godly Apostolics. It's the reprobates and compromisers that are enemies of the cross ...not sinners. And for that matter...strong Apostolic preachers and saints are the only friends other than Jesus that the sinner really has!

Very true,
But I quoted all those scriptures and that's what you came up with???

Besides, Jesus wasn't friends with sinners to be like them! He was friends with sinners to help them become like Him.

You don't know what I think.

I simply said, in the spirit of this thread, when thinking about who Jesus was "against" it was against those who believed themselves to be holy and righteous and all others were lost and condemning them. Yet Jesus said of them that whores and corrupt tax collectors were entering the Kingdom before them.

I didn't say anything about YOU and who you were or weren't friends with.
