The bride, and her family, in Old Testament times wuz to be given 'gifts' of Jewels and other precious things, from da espoused husband, as a type of down payment dowry.

Genesis 24:51-53
Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the Lord hath spoken. And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth.

And the servant brought forth (jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment), and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to (her mother) precious things.

24:61-
And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way. And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country. And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he ( lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming ).

And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife;

When Isaac saw the camels with the gifts on it he knew it was his bride
The same way the church has been adorned and given gifts of spiritual jewels and precious things.

1Peter 3:3
Whose adorning ( LET IT NOT BE ) that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel..

3:4,5
But ( LET IT BE ) the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. ( For after this manner in the old time the HOLY women also, who trusted in God, ADORNED themselves ), being in subjection unto their own husbands...

Revelation 21:2-4
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, ( PREPARED AS A BRIDE ADORNED FOR HER HUSBAND ). And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
