Re: ISIS And Franklin Graham
um, sure, exactly, the point being that no one is trying to denigrate Graham here, he might even be proud of the comparison, who knows, the pertinent thing for now is to take some somewhat outlandish comparisons and see if we can punch any holes in them.
Also, it's kind of hard to gauge his influence, he does not seem to have the prominence that his father does, but this may be inevitable given the way the church landscape is changing so rapidly. But i wonder if more to the point is the fact that his message is so different from his father's, yet Billy has only peripherally offered any counterpoint at all to his son. I guess this silence has been remarked upon in other places.
Anyway, Corey is a fairly thoughtful author, even if he does handle hot potatoes. I think the article is an honest look at where a section of established religion is going, even if he maybe stretched to get to a point or two, maybe. More telling for me is the reception--or lack of it, actually--it gets here. Being as how he is SBC i guess, i wasn't sure how he is regarded in wider circles, and your desire to bring up...what, some imam or something, anything, right, me being a liar, colonizing Mars, whatever it takes, is kind of what i was looking for.
